Managing organization members is about granting the right access—and removing it when it is no longer needed. This guide covers sending and managing invitations, reviewing members, changing organization roles, and removing organization access. Accepted invitations grant access through teams, while organization roles control authority across the organization.

Before you begin

To complete these workflows, you need:

  • An organization administrator account with the intended organization active
  • At least one named team
  • The email address of each person you want to invite
  • A team role for each team you select

Organization membership and team membership are related but separate. A person's organization role and team role can differ, and changing one does not automatically change the other.

Invite a person to the organization

When a person accepts an invitation, they receive access through one or more named teams. You choose a team role for each team during the invitation, but the person's organization role is established separately.

  1. Open Settings, then select Invitations.
  2. Select Invite Member.
  3. Enter the person's Email Address.
  4. Select one or more named teams. The built-in General team is not available as an invitation target.
  5. Choose a team role for each selected team, then review the recipient, teams, and role selections under What happens next?

  1. Select Send Invitation for one team or Send Invitations for multiple teams.

Model Monster sends one invitation email for each selected team. Each team invitation remains pending until it is accepted or canceled.

Review, resend, or cancel pending invitations

Pending invitations identify the recipient, team, team role, status, and sent date.

Resend an invitation when the recipient still needs access but needs another copy of the email:

  1. Find the invitation and select Resend invitation.
  2. Review the confirmation, then select Resend Invitation.

The platform sends another invitation email to the invited address, and the invitation remains pending.

Cancel an invitation when the recipient should no longer be able to use its link:

  1. Find the invitation and select Delete invitation.
  2. Review the Delete Invitation confirmation.

  1. Select Delete Invitation.

Review organization members and roles

When someone who is not already in the organization accepts an invitation, they receive organization Member access and access to the invited team. If the person already belongs to the organization, the invitation adds the invited team access without changing their existing organization role.

Open Settings, then select Members to browse the organization directory. Search by name, email address, or role when you need to find a specific person. The Org Admin badge identifies organization administrators, while team-membership labels show separate team access. Select a member to open Member Details and review their Organization Role and Team Memberships before changing access.

At a high level:

  • Member: Organization membership and the access provided by the person's assigned team roles. Members can view the organization member directory but cannot change organization roles or remove organization members.
  • Administrator: Organization-management authority, including the member-management workflows in this guide

Use Roles and permissions when you need to compare specific permissions before assigning access.

Change an organization role

Changing an organization role promotes a Member to Administrator or demotes an Administrator to Member. It does not change the person's team role.

You cannot change your own organization role.

  1. In Settings → Members, open another member's details.

  1. Review Change Organization Role and confirm that the new role is appropriate.
  2. Select Change Role.

After the change, the member's Org Admin status updates in the member list, while their team-role label remains unchanged.

Remove a member's organization access

Remove a member when they no longer need access to the organization.

  1. If the person is an organization administrator, first change their organization role to Member.
  2. In Settings → Members, open the regular member's Member Details.
  3. Under Danger Zone, select Remove from Organization.
  4. Review Remove User from Organization.
